Welcome to my portfolio. On these pages you'll find examples of my journalistic and web design / development work. I'm currently a project lead / manager for reallyenglish.com. I'm responsible for the production of database driven, Flash based e-learning courses and Web 2.0 solutions, which are made for international publishers such as McGraw Hill, Cambridge University Press and Pearson, and are sold to companies and education establishments around the globe.

I'm also an MSc Electronic Publishing graduate from City University. During the course of my studies, I completed projects in writing and editing for the electronic medium, human computer interaction design, design and layout, multimedia and web applications development among others. I also designed and developed the web site for EC1FM, a local community radio station in North London.

Between 1999 and 2006 I lived and worked in Tokyo as a teacher, writer and editor of English language courses for interpreters and multinational companies. I also worked as a freelance writer for the
British Council Japan. On this site you'll find examples of my work for the 'Football Culture' website and other websites / magazines. My career as a writer was born out of gaining a postgraduate diploma in General Journalism at the London School of Journalism.

My MSc dissertation was on the use of multimedia by the UK's national online news providers. The thesis looked at video journalism, podcasts and audio, interactve graphics, and Second Life. I conducted face-to-face interviews with editors, managers, and experts from BBC News Interactive, Sky News, Guardian Unlimited, Times Online, Sun Online, Mirror.co.uk, FT.com,Telegraph.co.uk and the Press Association.

An edited version of the project won 'best paper' at the 9th International Symposium on Online Journalism at the University of Texas, Austin, USA in April 2008. I presented my research as part of a panel on managing the production of online journalism. Other participants of the premier two-day conference included editors and executives from The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Daily Telegraph and MTV. The complete version of the paper appears in November's issue of Convergence: The International Journal of Research into New Media Technologies.
